A man who was the subject of a police warning in British Columbia this spring has been arrested by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.
Anthony Francis Helary, 50, appeared in provincial court in Corner Brook Thursday and Friday, and is being held in custody until another appearance next Tuesday.

Police in Abbotsford, B.C., issued a public warning about Helary in June, advising that he was a high-risk offender with a history of sexually assaulting adult women.
In September, a Canada-wide warrant was issued for Helary's arrest when the Abbotsford Police Department could not identify his whereabouts.
The RNC say Helary was arrested Wednesday night after he entered a licensed liquor establishment, violating a court order not to consume alcohol.
An unidentified person posted warnings last week around Corner Brook about Helary.
RNC spokesman Steve Mercer said the police have not issued a public notification about Helary because it must go through headquarters in St. John's and then a committee involving the Department of Justice.
Mercer said a public notice about Helary could be released in the next few days.
Heather Davis, executive director of the Corner Brook Status of Women Council, said residents of the city have been asking her plenty of questions.
"We have had numerous calls from women — and men, interestingly enough — concerned about being vulnerable and feeling at risk," she said.
Davis said she does not know who posted the warnings in Corner Brook, but is nonetheless glad the word got out.
