Coming Up on Hot Air

Saturday November 4

Canadian jazz fans voted Heather Bambrick Vocalist of the Year a few years back.  Now she's going to try her hand at the Hot Air Blindfold Test.  We'll play tracks by jazz vocalists from the past 50 years or so, and ask Heather to try to identify them and, more importantly, to talk about their style and their influence on her.  And you can play along at home.  We'll also hear a couple of tracks from Heather's latest CD, "Those Were The Days".

CD Release Party - Cellar - 7:30 pm - Sunday November 12

The Hot Air CD Volume IV is now available at the Magic Flute in Vancouver (see details in the column on the right).  And we're giving it a proper launch to celebrate our 60th season on the air.

Sunday November 12 starting at 7:30 pm we'll be at the Cellar Jazz Cafe, 3611 West Broadway (604-738-1959) with some of the musicians featured on the CD, including vocalists Kate Hammett-Vaughan and Roy Forbes, and the Hot Air House Band led by pianist Miles Black.  So why not stop by and help us celebrate 60 years of great jazz.
