East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - Alexander Mogilny and Zach Parise each
scored during a shootout, as the New Jersey Devils edged the New York
Islanders, 3-2, in preseason action.
Parise also scored early in the third period before Justin Papineau found the
net at the 6:51 mark on the power-play in the third to even the score for the
Islanders.
Radek Martinek also scored for the Islanders, while Pascal Rheaume had the
other goal for the Devils.
Garth Snow stopped 44 shots for the Islanders, while Martin Brodeur had 14
saves and Scott Clemmensen stopped 16 shots for New Jersey.
Rob Collins scored during the shootout for the Isles.
