Nashville 3, Calgary 2

Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - Jason Arnott scored twice in Nashville's 3-2 victory over the Calgary Flames at the Pengrowth Saddledome.

J.P. Dumont also scored and Tomas Vokoun stopped 25 shots for the Predators, who won for the sixth time in seven games since starting the season with three consecutive defeats.

Nashville beat Calgary for a sixth straight time going back to the 2003-04 season.

Jarome Iginla had both goals for the Flames, who lost for the fourth time in five contests.

Miikka Kiprusoff made 32 saves for Calgary, which couldn't manage to force overtime despite scoring twice in the final period.

Dumont scored with 12.1 seconds left in the opening period on a rebound and it became 2-0 midway through the second when Arnott scored on the power play on a slap shot from the high slot.

Iginla's first tally of the night came 3:23 into the third on the power play off a score in front after a pass from the right circle by Kristian Huselius.

Arnott, though, made it 3-1 at 9:46 after tipping in Shea Weber's shot from above the right circle.

Iginla lit the lamp again with 3:43 left on an a blast from the slot and the Flames pulled Kiprusoff in the final minute and peppered Vokoun, but couldn't come up with the equalizer.

The Flames outshot Nashville, 11-5, in the final period.


Game notes

Kimmo Timonen passed former captain Greg Johnson's lead in all-time games played as a Predator (503)...Weber had two assists.
