Audio-visual Loans Policy of the Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre

Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre

Last Verified: 2003-10-10

Summary

1. Individuals interested in borrowing materials from the Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre must provide identification providing their current address and telephone number. A driver’s license is preferred but Manitoba Health card is adequate (provided the address information is current).

2. Borrowers can take out any two items at a time for a two week period. Language learning materials are available for a three week period. Unless a title is marked on the case or bag as being two items it is considered to be one item. In the case of new borrowers only one item may be borrowed until such time as three items in total have been borrowed and returned. Rural borrowers have an additional week added to their loan period to account for the increased distance they have to travel to return materials or to allow for mailing items. That means three weeks for regular materials and four weeks for language learning materials.

3. Borrowers will be held libel for any losses or damage and will be billed the full replacement cost. Be warned that certain titles in our collection would cost upwards of $1,200 Canadian to replace.

4. Borrowers will be issued a library card for the CMBSC. Borrowers should present these cards every time they borrow A/V materials.

5. The loan period can be extended over the phone for an additional period (i.e. 2 or 3 weeks) provided no hold has been placed on that item. (The extra week for rural borrowers is only added once).

6. Out-of-town borrowers will also be accommodated. Items will be sent to borrowers by registered delivery service. Borrowers will be expected to return materials the same way.

7. If materials have not been returned by the due date, borrowers will receive one reminder by letter and given one week to return the materials. After that time period has passed, the matter will be handed over to a collection agency for the replacement value of the materials and your borrowing privileges will be revoked.

I have read the above policy and agree to all terms and conditions.
