Computer Use Policy of the Canada/Manitoba Business Service Centre

Summary

Individuals wishing to use the computers in the Canada /Manitoba Business Service Centre must abide by the following rules or they will be denied access.

1) User must sign in on the log in sheet provided at the reference desk with the following information: a) the visitors' badge number you received when signing in at reception; and 2) the time you go on the computer. You sign in under the letter of the workstation you are using.

2) Computers are only to be used to search the Internet or any databases loaded on that computer.

3) Information may either be printed off (or downloaded to diskette WHEN the application allows this). Some applications have specific restrictions on the number of records downloaded or printed that must be followed as well. There is a twenty page limit imposed on individual print jobs.

4) Outside diskettes are not allowed. A staff member will gladly trade a C/MBSC diskette for your blank diskette.

5) Word processing facilities or software other than the Internet are NOT provided at the C/MBSC.

6) Computers may only be used for business purposes.

Library staff reserve the right to limit time on a computer due to heavy demands.
