The King in the Window:

The book the king in the window was written by Adam Gopnik. It is a witty, quick-paced, enjoyable read. It is about a boy, named Oliver, who discovers he is the chosen king of a type of "ghosts", called wraiths, that live in glass and water. Oliver also discovers that he is to lead the war between the wraiths and their enemy, The Master Of Mirrors.

The part I enjoyed most was the humour and the author interpretations of famous people from the GRand Siècle, the ones who had great influence on our language. Mr. Gopnik included metaphor and such that made the book so enjoyable. It really painted a picture in my mind.

If I were to change anything I would add a little more background into the Master of Mirrors. Not just his history, but things like what made him how he is and why he is so evil. You know, delve deep into his feelings and etc. That's what I enjoy about books, is getting to know the characters!

If you are looking for a fresh, exciting novel that's fun to read while still giving a little history lesson at the same time, than this is the one to choose!
