Analysis of the Problem Loans at Asian Banks: Trends, Issues and Implications - Occasional Research Report
Abstract |
Most Asian countries have now entered a period of transition from rapid economic growth to slower, more sustainable growth. It is therefore highly unlikely that most Asian economies will be able to grow their way out of their problem bank loans anytime soon. Asia's operating environment will get riskier in the next two to five years. This means that the costs of conducting business in Asia will rise. Lenders and investors will need to intensify monitoring their exposures. This publication explains how the financial problems in Asia will affect doing business with Asia.
