ISO 9000 is a quality system that can help companies involved in the aerospace industry achieve world-class status. The case studies and examples that form the basis of this handbook have all been submitted by companies that have achieved or are well on their way toward world-class status. This handbook, like the Handbook on Total Quality Management that preceded it, is the result of close cooperation between members of the Standards and Quality Committee of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC), companies of the aerospace and defence industries, the Department of National Defence, Transport Canada, and the Aerospace and Defence Branch of Industry Canada.
