Right from Home : How to Successfully Begin a Home-based Business in Canada - A Start-Up Guide
Abstract |
The contents of this 113-page guide has been prepared by Barbara Mowat and Ted James in consultation with many sources. The British Columbia Ministry of Small Business, Tourism and Culture gave Industry Canada permission to adapt materials from the manual "Starting Your Home-Based Business", originally produced by Barbara Mowat and Patricia Keays. This guide provides the new entrepreneur with everything he needs in order to start-up a business. The chapters guide the entrepreneur through the process by asking and answering all the right questions. Chapters include "Do You Have a Solid Idea for the Business?", "Regulations and Requirements", "How to Protect Your Ideas and Designs", "The Almighty Business Plan!", "Some Marketing Basics", "Selling What You Have", "Advertising Wisely", "Composing a Financial Plan", "What Equipment to Buy", "Insurance Needs", "Keys to Financial Management" and "Handling Increased Volume" for example. The Appendices list the most profitable home businesses, provide questionnaires to help you evaluate your entrepreneurial acumen and supply samples of financial spreadsheets as well as resource lists. (Contains a list of CBSCs.)
