Upgrading For Tradespeople

Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission

The Commission provides upgrading in theory and practical skills for designated trades or subtrades.  The training assists tradespeople in meeting journeyperson or proficiency certificate requirements.

Tuition fees were implemented July 1, 2002.  While attending technical training courses, participants may receive Employment Insurance benefits.  A living away from home allowance may be available to Employment Insurance eligible apprentices who live 50 km from home and maintain a second residence.

Eligibility Criteria

Tradespeople, businesses and industry involved in any of the fifty (50) designated trades in Saskatchewan are eligible.  Trainees must verify "full time" status in their trade in order to qualify for upgrading.
