·  Acadia Centre for Small Business and Entrepreneurship
The Acadia Centre for Small Business and Entrepreneurship offers counseling, training, and research in the pre-start-up and start-up segments of the business growth cycle. The Centre provides internal programs to students of the university and external programs to individuals and groups in the southwest region of Nova Scotia.

·  Canadian Foundation for Economic Education
CFEE aims to identify, and help impart, the fundamental concepts of economics, enterprise, entrepreneurship, and personal finance that must be factored into the decisions and actions we face in our day-to-day lives.  CFEE develops curriculum for schools, and help teachers improve their knowledge and teaching techniques , they produce print and multimedia resources for use in classes across the country.  The CFEE works at all levels of learning from elementary to college and to the general public.

The Cape Breton YMCA Enterprise Centre provides entrepreneurial training, business support services and employment development services. The Enterprise Centre was established in 1987 to assist people in becoming self-employed. Since then the Enterprise Centre has grown to include a large list of programs and partnerships.

·  Entrepreneurial Skills Program (ESP)
The Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CEED), in conjunction with Dalhousie and UCCB offers a certificate program designed to enhance the entrepreneurial opportunities available to all students within participating universities. Through ESP, students in any faculty have an opportunity to combine the ESP certificate with their regular degree program.

Students will be provided with individualized support as they go through the program. This support will be based on CEED's approach to entrepreneurship education that includes mentoring, experiential activities, planning, peer-group work, and specific knowledge.

·  Maritime Business College
Offers a 42 week "Small Business Entrepreneur Diploma Program" commencing September (on an annual basis). MBC developed their Small Business Entrepreneur Program based on the following precept - those with the desire to make their own way in life are more likely to succeed if they possess basic skills that diminish risk and compliment the entrepreneurial spirit. Knowledge in accounting and taxation is essential in any business venture. Computer knowledge is just as vital because the computer today is the fundamental tool of business. Open for Business helps individuals discover, develop and fine-tune their business skills, or take that great idea and turn it into a successful entrepreneurial adventure.  No appointment is required to access one-on-one entrepreneurial support.  Open For Business also provides access to the world of creating and operating a business by providing support in the following areas:

Access one-on-one entrepreneurial advice
Network with young entrepreneurs
Experience workshops and seminars
Discover the wealth of resources in your community
Surf the net for business ideas and opportunities
Explore small business software on their computers
Free space for meetings, interviews and more.

Workshops are 1.5 to 3 hours long and take place during evenings and Saturdays.  To guarantee a spot, pre-register and pre-pay.  All workshops are $5 (packages are further discounted).
