Canada Trade Missions

Canada Trade Missions are a unique partnership in Canada's international business development efforts to increase trade and investment, as well as create jobs and growth in Canada. They help build prestige and credibility for Canada, while helping exporters to position themselves in foreign markets.

Eligibility Criteria

Canadian businesses, including:

  • small and medium-sized enterprises;
  • women, youth, aboriginal entrepreneurs; and
  • new exporters.

All Canadian provinces and territories.

Export in goods and services.

Summary

Canada Trade Missions are led by the Minister of International Trade. They offer tailored programs consisting of plenaries, seminars, hospitality events and networking opportunities designed to introduce participants to local government decision makers, business leaders and research insitutions, as well as to Canadian business people active in the region with experience to share. These missions send a strong message to prospective partners that Canada is committed to doing business with them.

Each mission draws business representatives from four to eight identified business focus sectors that are deemed to hold the greatest mutual promise for new business development with the mission destination countries.
