Women in Business Initiative - Business Management Training Allowance

T he Women in Business Initiative (WBI) aims to improve the growth and competitiveness of women-owned businesses and increase their representation in Atlantic Canada's emerging growth sectors. The WBI Business Management Training Allowance (BMTA) is designed to provide you with the know-how and confidence you need to guide your business to its fullest potential.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, the business must be owned by a woman (or women) who:

• owns at least 50% of the business;
• has at least 51% of its operating control;
• is involved in the day-to-day running of the business.

All industry sectors are eligible.

Summary

The BMTA provides financial assistance to women business owners who wish to undertake business management training in such areas as:

• Strategic Planning;
• Marketing;
• Human Resources;
• Business Operations;
• Finance and Accounting;
• Information Management;
• Pursuing broader opportunities for business growth.

The Business Management Training Allowance will finance up to 75% (to a maximum of $2 000) of approved training costs.
