TEAM Work Cooperative

Established in 1997, TEAM Work Cooperative Ltd. is a collaborative effort of 26 member shareholder agencies, approximately 20 community partner agencies, as well as federal and provincial government partners. Their collective mission is to facilitate the full participation of persons with disabilities in the Nova Scotia labour force.

Through their collective efforts, TEAM Work Cooperative and its member agencies develop services which support individual and group employment/self-employment for persons with disabilities.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, an individual must:

• Be at least 16 years of age
• Self-identify as having a disability
• Reside within the Halifax Regional Municipality
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada and be in need of assistance to prepare for, find or become employee

Summary

TEAM Work Cooperative will assist job seekers with disabilities to prepare for, find and keep employment/self-employment by providing the following services:

• Needs Assessment - career decision making, skills enhancement, job search, employment maintenance.
• Career and return to work action planning - a mutually agreed upon return to work action plan will be developed and documented for every client who is referred to further employment assistance interventions.
• Employment Counseling - employment counseling services and assistance in setting employment goals.
• Case Management and Referral - support, tracking and follow up with the client on the progress of their return-to-work-action-plan; clients will be referred to services offered by community and government partners.
