The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) has produced and/or compiled the materials on this website to provide Canadians with direct access to information about the programs and services offered by the Government of Canada.

Third-party Materials

Privacy Notice
The Government of Canada (GoC) and CIDA are committed to respecting the privacy of individuals who visit our websites. The following summarizes CIDA's website privacy policy and practices:
- CIDA does not automatically gather any personal information from you, such as your name, phone number, e-mail or street address, during your visit to its websites. This information is obtained only if you supply it voluntarily, through contacting us via e-mail, or registering in a secure portion of the site.
- All personal information collected and held by this Agency is protected under the federal Privacy Act and will be only used for the specific purposes for which it has been provided (e.g., to respond to a specific request), or where required by law. When providing information in a secure portion of the site, you will be informed that your personal information is being collected, the purpose for which it is being collected, how long it will be kept, and that you have a right to access and correct your own personal information.
- The information you voluntarily give (e.g., when making a request) will not be shared with another government department unless your inquiry relates to that department. We do not use the information to create individual profiles, nor do we disclose this information to anyone outside of CIDA.
- Non-identifiable or statistical information may be collected for audit purposes, for use in maximizing effectiveness.
- CIDA's website contains links to external sources other than GoC websites; however, these links are not covered by the federal Privacy Act.
- CIDA uses a software program to monitor network traffic, to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage to our site. This software receives and records the Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of computers that have connected with CIDA websites. In such instances, CIDA makes no attempt to link these addresses with the identity of individuals visiting the CIDA website, unless we notice an attempt to cause damage to our site.
- CIDA does not normally use “cookies” to track how visitors use this site. Whenever we enable “cookies” to facilitate your transactions, we will first inform you so that you may refuse them. Note: Cookies are files that a website can place on your hard drive, without your knowledge, to monitor your use of that site.
- CIDA is a participant in the GoC Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), which gives you the opportunity to communicate with the Agency in a confidential manner.
