Communications Branch
The Communications Branch of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) leads and supports the Agency in its communications activities on development policies, issues and results, CIDA programs and projects, and on the role of Canada and Canadians in development cooperation.
Furthermore, the Communications Branch supports the Minister for International Cooperation in communicating with Canadians and the rest of the world.
These activities are carried out through both proactive and responsive communications programs, including outreach activities.
The Communications Branch also manages the Development Information Program, which recognizes and promotes the efforts of Canadians through mass media and educational initiatives.
Canada's most recent policies clearly articulate the critical need for demonstrating results––to ensure that Canadians continue to support development and to engage them in the process.
