Information Management and Technology Branch

The Information Management and Technology Branch (IMTB) provides CIDA with corporate informatics support associated with information management (IM), information technology (IT), and office automation. The branch also helps CIDA identify valuable emerging technologies and techniques.

The major approaches outlined in an IM/IT strategy define IMTB's role:

  • to help the Agency use technology to deliver projects and programs efficiently, effectively, and through collaboration;
  • to use technology to support CIDA in managing and capitalizing on its relationships;
  • to support CIDA's ability to leverage its investments, knowledge, and experience to achieve greater impact by implementing subject and sector portals that support collaboration and sharing with other stakeholders;
  • to improve the capture, management of, and access to CIDA's paper and electronic documents and records in order to make effective and efficient use of the information they hold; and
  • to provide technological tools to enable all CIDA staff, regardless of location, to access, capture, retrieve, and re-use Agency information.

These strategic approaches complement the Agency's business objectives.
