Asia Branch
Asia Branch supports bilateral (country to country) and regional programming that addresses both the priorities and the challenges of individual Asian nations, as well as the regional issues these countries face together.
The principal role of the branch is to plan, develop, and implement Canada's bilateral development cooperation programs in Asia by matching Canadian capabilities and resources with the development needs of the countries. The goal is to promote growth with equity in Asia, including strengthening the basis for its prosperity and promoting security within the region.
The Asia Branch is also responsible for initiatives put forward after the December 2004 tsunami and the October 2005 earthquake in South Asia.
