Linking Performance and Knowledge with Development

By measuring and reporting on performance, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) has access to credible, timely, and useful information to continuously improve its international development assistance programming. Measuring performance also enhances the Agency’s capacity to demonstrate accountability and transparency to Canadians.

Results for Canadians: A Management Framework for the Government of Canada, calls on federal departments and agencies to be values-based, results-driven, and aligned with the needs of Canadians. To this end, the delivery of the Agency's programs focuses on the achievement of results and the practice of due diligence and value for money in the use of public funds.

Evaluation, internal audit, and results-based management play a fundamental role in demonstrating the integrity of CIDA programming and the value being realized through the Agency’s involvement in development cooperation programs and projects.
