This hygiene kit, provided by the Canadian Red Cross with support from the Matching Funds Program, contains soap, detergent, shampoo, toothpaste,
and other hygiene products necessary for improved health and sanitation.
As recovery efforts progress and families become increasingly self-sufficient,
the distribution of relief supplies will be phased out.

World Vision, with support from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) Matching Funds Program, is working with communities in Banda Aceh, Indonesia to respond to the devastation caused by the Tsunami. Here, community members have been hired to erect a
temporary school for the local children.

Child protection issues are a primary concern for many of the
non-governmental organizations working with Matching Funds support.
Here, in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka, World Vision has established a child-friendly space, staffed by community facilitators and stocked with learning and play materials, so children who have been displaced by the Tsunami
have somewhere fun and safe to go.

The Canadian Red Cross had used support from the Matching Funds Program to ship desperately needed relief supplies to Tsunami-affected countries.
Here, a woman receives basic necessities from a distribution organized by the International Federation of the Red Cross in Matara, Sri Lanka.
