Sub-Saharan Africa

Canada has decided to allocate the bulk of its international assistance to Africa. Assistance to Africa is expected to double by 2008–2009 from the 2003–2004 level. A large share of Canadian assistance is focused on a few countries that are among the world's poorest countries.

CIDA also continues to promote a regional and continental approach through regional programs.
