The International Organization of La Francophonie and, through it, various operating agencies that are part of La Francophonie receive funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to implement their respective programs. Officials of CIDA’s Francophonie Program work closely with their counterparts from other Canadian government departments involved in La Francophonie, especially those from Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, which has primary responsibility for La Francophonie within the Government of Canada.
