The Canadian International Development Agency’s (CIDA) bilateral assistance (country-to-country) in Asia has moved towards a more focused relationship with fewer countries where aid can have a greater impact.
As such, Malaysia no longer receives direct bilateral or partnership assistance from CIDA.
Malaysia remains eligible for funding through core multilateral programs including the International Humanitarian Assistance Program.
In 2003-2004, Canadian Official Development Assistance to Malaysia totalled $1.43 million.
