The Canadian International Development Agency’s (CIDA) bilateral assistance (country-to-country) in Asia has moved towards a more focused relationship with fewer countries where aid can have a greater impact.
As such, Thailand no longer receives direct bilateral or partnership assistance from CIDA.
Thailand remains eligible for funding through core multilateral programs including the International Humanitarian Assistance Program and regional programming through the Southeast Asia Regional Program.
CIDA implemented initiatives in this country after the tsunami.
In 2003-2004, Canadian Official Development Assistance to Thailand totalled $6.98 million.
