Stories from the Field

Climate change, natural disasters, drought, famine, disease—these are the challenges that people in developing countries must deal with just to survive. CIDA's Multilateral Programs Branch works with international agencies and organizations to help people in developing countries meet these challenges in order to lift themselves out of poverty and become self-sufficient.

The stories featured below illustrate how CIDA and its international partners are working together to advance human development and meet internationally agreed-upon development goals in health, education, poverty reduction, gender equality and environmental sustainability. These stories also show how Canada is making a real difference both at home and abroad by fostering a more secure, prosperous and equitable world.
