Securities Commissions

Each province has a securities commission or administrator that oversees the provincial securities act. This act is a set of laws and regulations that set down the rules under which securities may be issued and traded.

In eight provinces a securities commission has been created to administer the securities act. In Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and the three territories the legislation is administered by an administrator, called the Registrar of Securities.
