The Career Focus program constitutes one of the three components of the Youth Employment Strategy. Through this program, employers/sponsors may hire recent graduates and receive a wage subsidy of up to a third of the participants's salary ($15 000 maximum).
Eligibility Criteria
- Graduates should:
- be between the age of 15 and 30;
- be a post-secondary graduates;
- be out of school;
- not be in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits; and
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
- A sponsor can be:
- a business;
- an organization (including not-for-profit, professional, employer and labour associations);
- a public health institution;
- an educational institution;
- a band/tribal council;
- an Aboriginal organization; or
- a municipal government.
Eligible Area
Canadian provinces and territories.
Summary
This project provide financial assistance to employers and organizations to deliver projects that will provide post-secondary graduate youth with work experiences within Canada and abroad.
