Work Environment

In fulfilling our mission and support of the National Security Policy, we see ourselves as a dynamic organization continuously pursuing a strategy to ensure that it evolves as an effective, efficient and expert security authority. Being a relatively small organization with just over 225 employees, we offer a congenial work environment. You will have the opportunity to share ideas with specialists in your field and be able to interact directly with the senior management team.

Learning and Development

CATSA strives to build a work environment that encourages training and professional development opportunities that enrich the Authority's work and that promote individual levels of competence. For instance we offer the following:

  • Support for work-related conference attendance
  • Academic assistance to help employees in their pursuit of continuous learning
  • Development opportunities for pool of individuals as part of our succession program
  • Job-related memberships in professional associations

Salary and Benefits

We offer competitive salaries and performance bonuses. Salaries are based on the relevant market place comparisons which are monitored regularly and reviewed at least annually to maintain the validity of comparisons.

CATSA offers a comprehensive compensation package. Our employees and their families enjoy life, health, vision and dental insurance, as well as income protection through short-term and long-term disability benefits.

Our employees enjoy an excellent contributory defined benefit pension plan, providing fully indexed retirement and survivor benefits.

All employees begin with three weeks paid annual vacation. To balance work and personal lives we offer five days of leave each year for family-related responsibilities and parental leave when a new child arrives.

Our employees have access to an Employee Assistance Program which is a voluntary counselling service provided by outside professionals. It's paid for by CATSA and is strictly confidential.
