CATSA Makes Changes at Montreal Airports

OTTAWA (Ontario) - The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) today announced that Garda of Canada, a subsidiary of Garda World Security Corporation, will assume the contract for passenger and baggage security screening at Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau and Mirabel International Airports, effective immediately.

As a result of on-going customer service challenges, CATSA took immediate action to ensure continued security and efficiency for airline passengers travelling from Montreal.

CATSA would like to apologize to all passengers, airlines and stakeholders for any inconvenience caused by recent delays at pre-board screening checkpoints.

Garda of Canada is CATSA's service provider at Toronto's Pearson International Airport, Toronto's Island Airport and Buttonville Municipal Airport in Markham.

About CATSA

A Crown corporation based in the National Capital Region, CATSA reports to Parliament through the Minister of Transport and is responsible for passenger and baggage screening at airports across Canada according to the standards established by federal regulations.
