Ocean Sciences
The Ocean Sciences mandate is to provide a strong base of physical,
chemical and biological data along with research, analysis and advice
required to support decisions regarding maintaining:

the conservation, protection and sustainable use of the environment
and marine resources of the St. Lawrence and Quebec's northern
coastal waters;

a safe navigation environment (Ex: oceanographic conditions) for the
various users of the St. Lawrence.

In order to fulfil its mandate, ocean sciences staff carry out various
integrated activities distributed into the following responsibility

- Data Management
- Physical and biological modelling
- Monitoring
- Ocean Climate
- Ecosystem Productivity
- Toxic Algae
- Operational Oceanography
