The purpose of the Oceans outreach program is to raise awareness among stakeholders about the Oceans Act and its three primary programs (Integrated Management, Marine Protected Areas and Marine Environmental Quality).  In addition, outreach initiatives have been designed to inform stakeholders about how the oceans work, and how people can take steps towards protecting them in their everyday lives.

Current projects include:

• Development of a Coastal Shore Stewardship Guide for Planners and Developers, now available for download or purchase on the Stewardship Centre website!
• Distributing a number of Oceans Publications, including education materials, posters, brochures, bookmarks and booklets
• Promoting and distributing the Salish Sea Handbook for Educators
• Development of the Fisheries and Oceans Canada Marine and Aquatic Resource Guide - printed resources, videos, children's books and more all listed in one place.
• Organizing oceans-related community events throughout the region, including festivals for Oceans Day, and the Great Canadian Shoreline Clean Up
• Supporting the Shorekeepers and Reefkeepers programs
