Snootli Hatchery - General Information

Location:

12 km east of Bella Coola at the head of North Bentick Arm on BCs central coast.

Directions:

Once on Hwy 20, head east on Hwy 20 out of town. Watch for signs.

Hours of Operation:

Monday to Friday 
8am to 4pm

Tours:

Guided tours are provided. No self-guided tours allowed. Large groups should call ahead.

Species:

Coho, chum, chinook, sockeye, pinks (in the spawning channel)

Best Times:

Chum Juveniles release in March
Chum eggtake July
Coho eggtake November
Coho Juveniles released in May
Chinook eggtake August – beginning of November
Chinook Juveniles  April – June
Sockeye eggtake August and September
Pink eggtake  September

Other Attractions:

Petroglyphs, hot springs, native arts and crafts, wildlife, breathtaking scenery.
