  • processing of altimeter (Topex/Poseidon, ERS, Jason, Envisat) and coastal sea level data for ocean variability studies

  • numerical modelling of ocean circulation, mixed-layer dynamics and assimilation of oceanographic data in models
  • numerical modelling of tsunami currents and waves in harbours resulting from megathrust submarine earthquakes
  • calculation of sea surface forcing from various meteorological data, including data from weather buoys, coastal stations and from numerical weather predictions and analyses
  • prediction of ocean surface currents from tides, winds and buoyancy forcing and comparison to surface drifter data
