Meteorological and oceanographic data collected by the oil and gas industry or its contractors during
Canadian offshore hydrocarbon exploration between 1979 and 1993. A cooperative project between MEDS and the National Energy Board (NEB).
Below is a utility
that will assist you in finding data based on time, place, data types, or
the details of the location. If all fields are left blank, the
search will return all of the records in the database. You may
narrow your search by filling in fields.
For Latitude and Longitude, MEDS uses a convention whereby north and
west are positive, respectfully.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada has also established the
Centre for
Offshore Oil and Gas Environmental Research (COOGER) to coordinate the
department’s nation-wide research into the environmental and oceanographic
impacts of offshore petroleum exploration, production and transportation.
