The Manitoba government is proposing a regulation that will
temporarily suspend the development of new and expanding hog
barns in our province. The purpose of this regulation
is to give the Clean Environment Commission an opportunity
to review the environmental sustainability of the hog
industry in Manitoba.

Crown Land Policy for Wind Farms
Manitoba established the Energy Development Initiative to
support energy development in Manitoba including wind power.
On September 7, 2006 the Province announced that Manitoba
Hydro would issue a request for proposals for new wind
projects.
