About Us
The Canada/Newfoundland and Labrador Business Service Network, formally announced October 29, 1999, is a joint initiative of the federal and provincial governments which exemplifies the spirit of cooperation and teamwork. The managing partners for the initiative are the Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development on behalf of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) on behalf of the Government of Canada.
Through an innovative joint management and delivery approach, both agencies provide the premier gateway to the business information in the province.
The initiative also established Business Service Network sites in each of the 20 economic zones in the province bringing together public and private partners. The partnership arrangement makes each of the on-site stakeholders at the various network sites an equal partner in this initiative. They each maintain responsibility for the delivery of their respective programs and services but within a cluster of network partners that provides coordinated and more complete business service for the client, a "first-stop" for people visiting Network sites. Network site partners include federal and provincial government departments, private industry and community economic development agencies. Visit our Partners page to learn more about who they are and what they do.
