What's happening with the Administered Accounts Class Action Suit?
Order of Justice - February 16, 2004
In brief, in response to a motion made by the defendant, the Court ordered that the order certifying the proceedings as a class proceeding be amended (a) to define those persons who are members of the class and (b) to incorporate further common issues between the parties in respect of the claims.
Update: May 10, 2002
The Government of Canada has filed leave to appeal with the Supreme Court of Canada on the Authorson case today, Friday, May 10, 2002.
Update - Authorson Class Action Suit
The decision of the Court of Appeal for Ontario on Authorson will be released today, Wednesday, March 13, 2002, in Toronto at 10:00 a.m. (eastern time). The decision will be posted on the Web: http://www.ontariocourts.on.ca/decisions_index/new_releases.htm
Update - Authorson Class Action Suit - October 2000
Mr. Justice Brockenshire of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice released a decision on October 11, 2000, on the Summary Judgment Motions of the Plaintiff and Defendant in the Authorson class action case heard at Windsor in mid-September.

A national class action has been commenced in the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario against the Department of Veterans Affairs. The representative plaintiff is Joseph Authorson. The lawyers for the plaintiff are David G. Greenaway and Raymond G. Colautti of Paroian, Raphael, Courey Cohen & Houston of Windsor, Ontario and Peter Sengbusch of London, Ontario.
Notice of Class Certification
A class action has been commenced in the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario against the Attorney General of Canada. The proceeding has been brought by Joseph Patrick Authorson, by his Litigation Guardian, Lenore Majoros, as representative plaintiffs, by his solicitors, David G. Greenaway and Raymond G. Colautti of Paroian, Raphael, Courey, Cohen & Houston, and Peter Sengbusch.
