Voluntary registration policy effective October 29, 2007
We have implemented the Voluntary Registration policy, effective October 29, 2007. This policy provides an opportunity for non-registered employers, who are legally required to register with the WSIB, to come forward to voluntarily register with full amnesty until March 31, 2008.
Health care equipment and supplies
Beginning March 3, 2008, the WSIB will require workers to purchase approved health care equipment and supplies from a list of three preferred suppliers.

New regulations for paralegal representatives
Effective November 1, 2007, in order to continue to provide legal services, all paralegals must have submitted a completed Registration and Application form to the Law Society of Upper Canada and obtained errors and omissions insurance.

Firefighter occupational illnesses
The Minister of Labour has implemented a new regulation concerning occupational illnesses for full-time firefighters. The WSIB has a dedicated team to address claims arising out of this regulation. For inquiries regarding firefighter claims, please contact 416-344-5700.
