The Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters (CAIE) is a private, non-profit organization, which has been servicing Canada's trade community since 1932. The CAIE is Canada's key source of information on Canadian customs and trade policy. We provide Canadian importers and exporters with critical and timely information, effective representation to government and effective solutions for members' concerns.

The CAIE represents the views of its members to the government through:
- guidance on trade and customs issues that could affect their daily commercial endeavours;
- frequent written submissions and preparation of new programs;
- regulations and implementation of present policies related to Canada's international trade;
- active participation in hearings;
- meetings with key government representatives, senior level officials of the Canada Revenue Agency, Foreign Affairs Canada, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Department of Finance, Environment Canada, and other federal and provincial departments and agencies.
The CAIE promotes Canada's international trade by:
- educating Canadians on the benefits of world commerce participation;
- expressing its views on controversial and sensitive matters; and
- supporting the government in those areas designed to improve Canada's trading position.
