Vancouver – The Honourable Herb Dhaliwal, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and MP for Vancouver South-Burnaby, announced today that he has asked the Canadian Coast Guard to review all the facts surrounding the response to the tragic accident that occurred last Sunday in Richmond, BC. "I have personally asked my Deputy Minister and the Commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard to review the facts surrounding the response to this particular accident as well as the rescue diving pilot project in Richmond, in general," said Minister Dhaliwal. "Our priority is to provide effective and safe marine search and rescue services to Canadians." This review will involve all of the other agencies that responded to the emergency.
