Dartmouth, N.S. -- Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) today announced its largest Fishery Officer recruitment
effort in recent years in the Maritime Provinces. It is anticipated that 25 to 30 Fishery Officers will be

are met and that fisheries continue to be properly managed.
Notice of the competitions (posters and application information) to fill these positions is currently posted
on the Public Service Commission's website at http://www.jobs.gc.ca or from local Human Resources Development
Centres. Candidates must apply through the Public Service Commission of Canada. DFO is committed to the merit
principle and to employment equity and encourages women, Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, and
members of visible minority groups to apply. Vacancies are available throughout the Gulf and Maritimes
Regions in the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
A number of successful candidates will be offered training though the Department's National Fishery Officer
