In Vancouver, Minister Geoff Regan today announced the adoption of the
Wild Salmon Policy (WSP) and committed $1.1 million to its
implementation and related salmon science. The WSP is a
new way of managing and conserving salmon and their habitats. The
policy defines a new approach to salmon conservation in the Pacific Region.
It advances the Government of Canada’s agenda for reform of Pacific
fisheries.
