 The
2005 Seal Forum will take place on November 7 and 8, 2005, in St. John’s, NL
at the Delta St. John’s Hotel and Conference Centre. The
two-day forum brings together a variety of sealing industry interests from
across Canada to provide meaningful input concerning various elements of the
seal hunt and to consult on the development of a new multi-year management
plan. The Seal Forum is about ensuring a long-term sustainable and
humane hunt that provides economic benefits to many communities in Atlantic
Canada.Advisory meetings with industry stakeholders
will be held November 9-10 to discuss access and allocations.
The new multi-year management plan will be completed
before the start of the major seal hunting activity in 2006.
