More Information
The Supplier Registration Information (SRI) is a database of potential suppliers to the Government of Canada. Federal government departments use the information provided by suppliers to identify sources of supply for the goods and services they buy. By registering in the SRI, the suppliers make their company's name and supply capabilities widely available to federal government buyers.
Suppliers and contractors doing business with Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) are required to have a Procurement Business Number (PBN) before they can be issued a contract. Firms can obtain their PBN through the Supplier Registration Information (SRI) service.
Eligibility Criteria
All suppliers who wish to do business with the Government of Canada.
Summary
The Supplier Registration Information (SRI) is a service introduced by Contracts Canada (see the document Contracts Canada) to simplify supplier registration services.
Registering as a Supplier
You can register in Contracts Canada's Supplier Registration Information (SRI) system as a potential supplier to the Government of Canada. The SRI database is accessible to all federal government buyers who may use it to identify potential suppliers for purchases not subject to any of the trade agreements (for which they use MERX - Electronic Tendering Service).
An important feature of SRI is the Procurement Business Number (PBN) which is created using the Canada Revenue Agency Business Number - BN to identify a company. Suppliers and contractors doing business with Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) are required to have a Procurement Business Number (PBN) before they can be issued a contract.
Access SRI
For non-Internet registration, please contact one of the following Contracts Canada Supplier Registration Agents listed below or contact the Contracts Canada InfoLine at 1-800-811-1148.
If you supply one of the following services, you may want to register in the applicable database below.
Informatics Professional Services
Register electronically with the online Informatics Professional Services (IPS) Marketplace, an inventory of informatics professional services companies (including Internet Web page designers) used by federal departments in the National Capital area to purchase informatics professional services.
Consulting and Audit Canada
Suppliers of consulting and audit services should also register electronically with the Skills Registration System (SRS) on Consulting and Audit Canada Web site. CAC provides public sector consulting and audit expertise to federal government departments and agencies but regularly complements its in-house capabilities by subcontracting with suppliers of these services. The majority of requirements are in the National Capital Region but are some subcontracting opportunities across Canada and internationally.
