Data on freshwater fisheries is provided by a number of sources including regional offices of DFO, provincial governments and the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation.

For current years, data on volume and value are provided by species, by province and territory.

For years prior to 1980, volume and value by species only is presented due to the lack of detail at the provincial and territorial levels in available publications.This data is available in the Historical section.
