GST/HST TELEFILE

GST/HST TELEFILE is an electronic way to file your GST/HST return in a matter of minutes using a touch-tone telephone and a toll-free number.

GST/HST TELEFILE is available in all provinces and territories to selected business clients who file their GST/HST returns with the CRA. Eligible business clients must meet all the following conditions:

• the return has a nil balance or a refund of $10 000 or less;
• your return must not include an amount on line 111;
• you must not need to file a rebate application with your return;
• the name, Business Number, reporting period, and address that are preprinted on the client's personalized return are correct;
• a GST/HST TELEFILE access code is printed on the client's personalized GST/HST return.

GST/HST TELEFILE is a fast, free, new service that allows qualifying business clients to file their GST/HST returns by telephone. The new service is part of the CRA's continuing efforts to give business clients convenient electronic service options.

Using GST/HST TELEFILE is as easy as making a 1-800 phone call. To use the service, qualifying clients simply complete a GST/HST return and call the toll-free number. Then they follow the automated voice directions to enter the information from their return using the telephone keypad. When they have finished entering all their data, and they indicate that they want to file the return, GST/HST TELEFILE gives them a confirmation number and starts to process the return at once.
