The Federal Industrial Boiler Program (FIBP) is a fee-for-service program whose mission is to assist in the development and implementation of clean, energy-efficient heating and cooling technologies.

Eligibility Criteria

FIBP services are available to the private sector, federal government departments, and other levels of government.

Summary

Along with developing site-specific strategies to help boiler operators meet higher equipment-performance targets, the FIBP provides services related to:

  • reducing NOx emissions;
  • increasing energy efficiency;
  • extending the useful life of existing boiler systems and auxiliary equipment.

The FIPB services include:

  • cogeneration feasibility studies;
  • retrofit surveys;
  • non-destructive examinations;
  • lifecycle costing analyses;
  • preparation of technical specifications;
  • turnkey project management of heating, cooling and micro-cogeneration system installations;
  • advisory services (e.g. emissions guidelines).
