A number of general business start-up regulations will also apply to most businesses in Ontario. The

9. Employment Agency
All Employment Agencies should be familiar with the Employment Standards Act.

The Employment Standards Act, 2000 included a provision for the repeal of the Employment Agencies Act. This provision has been proclaimed into force (April 2001). This means that employment agencies in Ontario are no longer required to obtain a licence to operate and current licence holders do not have to apply for a renewal of their existing licence.

Businesses selling or renting videos directly to the public (including by vending machines) require a Film Exchange Retail Licence.
