Working in New Brunswick

New Brunswick's employment opportunities offer attractive salaries and benefits, a progressive work environment and supportive industry networks, especially if you're highly skilled as an information technology project manager, system designer or software developer, tool and die machinist or mold maker.

Workers with skills in demand in New Brunswick and who obtain validated job offers from New Brunswick employers may be eligible under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program.

Accreditation

Some occupations in Canada are regulated and have licensing requirements. Regulated professions usually require several years of university education, practical experience under the supervision of a licensed worker in the chosen profession, and the successful completion of a licensing examination.

Apprenticeable trades usually require the completion of a period of apprenticeship training on the job with a licensed supervisor, some specialized college education courses, and the successful completion of a certification examination.

For immigrants, a first step in becoming accredited in these regulated occupations is obtaining an assessment of training and experience earned outside Canada and/or the specific province.

For an overview of accreditation services and programs, please visit the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials website at www.cicic.ca.
